Well, I don't mean to offend, but he was 49, right?
Last year I was 49, and I noticed a huge difference in my physical stamina compared to just three or four years earlier. Not that I was ever an Olympic athlete or anything, but I was always been able to work hard for long hours ... I'm talking on my feet in the lab for 15 or 16 hour shifts... and bounce right back the next day. And I used to travel a lot for pleasure and enjoy it, hassles and all. But last year I noticed that I simply cannot work the hours I used to, and traveling is much harder on me than it used to be. It just seemed to me that he was pushing himself really hard and the weather on most of his stops would have been sloppy winter weather. Without knowing he got sick, I thought it would be a miracle that he hadn't gotten sick.
