Jack's Cousin

I've been listening to a run of shows in which Jack or Mary will frequently make throw-away references to Jack's cousin Booboo (who looks just like Jack). I started wondering when was Booboo first mentioned, and when did he last "appear" in a gag?

I was sure this was dicussed here before, but a search of the forum turns up nothing.
Don't have an answer, although I'm sure Laura's books do. I remember them in a stretch of shows in the early 1940s, but never heard anything of BooBoo again after that.
