I'm going through a newspaper column dated Sept. 29, 1944. It's talking about poor pronunciation, and then there's the comment:

"But, in the words of Jack Benny's Rochester, 'That's what the man said.'"

When did Rochester first use the "You heard what he said, he said that" bit on the Benny show?
