When were the earliest and latest references to that song? (I suppose "latest" might be difficult... I'll settle for "earliest")

I believe references in the radio show started in fall of 1951 (although I'm not 100% sure of the date, I think it's around the 2nd or 3rd episode).

In terms of last reference, I know it was referenced as late as season 12 of his TV show.
"Ship off the starboard bow!" "What kind is she?" "She's a Spanish Galleon!" "A galleon?" "Good! That's a quart for each of us!"

The latest reference I remember for it was the Dimitri Tiompkin episode, "Jack Writes a Song" from season 12.

Long ago when I heard a clip of the show where Groucho, Sinatra, Danny Kaye and ... ? performed the song, I figured Jack had been plugging it for years and years.
