dreams

Postby epeterd » Tue Aug 29, 2006 11:28 am

Wasn't really sure what category to put this in, but it's about JB the man so I picked this one. Anyway I had a dream last night about Jack Benny. I'm just wondering who else may have had a dream about him. Considering how much time Laura has spent on him, I'm sure she has. I've already pretty much forgotten the dream; I have a crappy memory. I just remember talking to him and telling him how much I enjoyed him and that I thought he was the best comedian ever. Isn't it cool how you can talk to a dead person in a dream?

Was there a turkey in it, too? Maybe the Sportsmen Quartet?

Oh, wait. Those are Jack's dreams :)

PS.. your post inspired me to listen to the turkey dream episode. I love Mel's turkey and the Quartet doing their parody of 'The Lady From 29 Palms.'

What show does Mel and the Sportsmen do a parody of "The Lady from 29 Palms"? I don't remember this at all.

I went and found the show and I am ashamed to admit that I had forgotten all about "The Turkey of 29 pounds". A true classic :D

It's a fun show. I like the parody of Phil Harris' signature tune in the Lucky Strike spot, and Bea Benadaret, Frank Nelson and even Don Wilson as turkeys. One thing that struck me is it almost sounds like two different shows, as the plot doesn't get rolling until the second half.

The dream shows, generally, are likeable, with plenty of running gags. I've now been inspired to look for my copy of Jack dreaming about the Sportsmen Quartet singing beautifully.

This is getting a bit off track. I've never dreamed of Jack's show. I have dreamed of being 39 again :)
