I previously mentioned a huge laugh that came when the gang was complimenting a guest-- a lady opera singer I think-- using a lot of technical musical terms, and sounding very cultured. Jack finally joins in, saying "Well I thought..." and Mary cuts him off with "Oh shut up!"
I find they used this more than once. The guest is Issac Stern in a show that I estimate to be from around 1946-47. The laugh is good but not great. One of the terms used is "allegro con modo" which sets up another gag, concerning some model of Studebaker which they had mentioned on other shows, as looking the same from either end. Something about "Is the modo in the front or the back?"
I have a book about 50s cars, but I wish I had one for the 40s so I could look for that Studebaker.
