Phil on American Sportsman

My dad used to watch that show fairly often, but I didn't pay much attention. Two guests always come to my mind for some reason-- Phil Harris, and South Dakota Governor and WW2 hero Joe Foss.
I thought of the show recently because of all the hilarity over Dick Cheney's hunting accident, and right after that, host Curt Gowdy died.

I also remember Phil from the American Sportsman. In fact, I first discovered Phil through this show years before I knew of his connection to Jack Benny. This article by the late Curt Gowdy brought back memories. http://espn.go.com/outdoors/general/col ... 94746.html

The article also reminded me again of the great friendship that existed between Phil and Bing Crosby.
