Can someone, maybe Laura, provide dates for some shows featuring Mr. Schlepperman? I'm writing a story that includes a character based on Mr. Schlepperman and I need to hear his voice again.
Well, for all intents and purposes, the character IS Mr. Schlepperman. He plays a traveling salesman on a Union Pacific train in 1895.

Well, I know he was on the first post-New Years show of 1941. This was a show where Jack and the gang went to the Rose Bowl game and Schlepperman was selling hotdogs. I think you'll find most of the Schlepperman appearances in the years from 1936 to 1940. The character rarely appeared after that time.

Best source is, well, 39 Forever Volume 1. Look up Sam Hearn in the cast index, and most of his appearances will be Schlepperman. For Volume 2, the Sam Hearn listings will mostly be the Rube from Calabassas.
