Satellite Radio

Postby Mike » Wed Jan 26, 2005 2:26 am

Hey All - I recently bought an XM satellite radio and it is fantastic. Their 24/7 'old time radio' channel #164 plays Jack's show at various times throughout the week, and I've also heard him on the "Campbell Playhouse" a couple of times. Yes, I know most if not all of Jack's shows are available on various media, but I just think it's a lot more fun to listen when I know other people are listening at the same time, as part of an 'audience,' so to speak.
There are many, many other channels and formats to choose from as well, all playing 24/7. There are several models available, some for home use, and others for the car. It can be hooked up to the home stereo, but I didn't want it that complicated. I chose the portable "MyFi" model, which is like a walkman. But it can also be used without headphones, and can transmit WITHOUT WIRES through an unused frequency on my table top FM radio, which is the way I prefer to listen. The reception and sound is terrific! Radio has been re-invented. If you've wondered about satellite radio but haven't got around to checking it out, I strongly suggest that you look into it. You won't be sorry. XM radio is available at Circuit City, Good Guys, etc. Mike in L.A.

satellite radio will help attract new JB fans

Postby Alan » Fri Feb 25, 2005 5:54 pm

I know there is a more current "JB legacy" thread, but i just wanted to comment here that in addition to the comments on release of TV DVDs, MP3 technology....etc...That i believe satellite OTR will probably generate a decent number of new JB (and OTR in general fans).

XM Radio Is Coming To Canada!

Postby Mike » Mon Oct 31, 2005 3:51 am

Any Benny fans in Canada? I don't know, but XM is coming to Canada, in Dec. I think. It was previously not officially available in Canada. It hasn't been announced yet if OTR Ch. #164 or the other comedy channel that plays Jack's shows will be included on XM Canada. Stay tuned.

XM RADIO NOW AVAILABLE IN CANADA!

Postby Mike » Fri Dec 02, 2005 10:54 pm

XM Radio is now officially available in Canada. Several Canadian content channels have been added (which are also receivable in USA - hockey anyone? lol). Ch. #164 OTR I believe is included on the Canadian lineup, along with dozens of music channels for each and every musical taste. If you live in Canada (or the USA for that matter), run, don't walk, to your nearest retail outlet that sells XM. I promise you will not be disappointed! Mike
