Don Wilson 1978 interview

I haven't even watched it yet, but I was excited to discover this recently-uploaded episode of Tom Snyder's "Tomorrow" show from 1978 with Don, Harry Von Zell, and George Fenneman!

That's funny, Norman Krasna loved that joke.

Everyone was having a good time for that interview. Don's story of being fired for driving a Packard makes me wonder how many actors like Mel Blanc and Bea Benaderet had to hide what products they owned to avoid risking their jobs. They worked on several shows each week. Mel said in his book that he had to carry several brands of cigarettes to be sure he did not smoke the wrong ones in front of a sponsor.

It has been at least 20 years since I read Mel's book... need to find it again. It's odd to imagine the man of 1000 voices puffin' on smokes. No concern for the effect of cigarettes on million dollar pipes back then!?! And it was not that long ago, really...
