I still remember hearing the news of Jack's passing on the radio that day. I felt like I'd lost a family member. I guess that's because Jack had been coming into our home for as long as I can remember.

We miss you, Jack, but we're glad we have so much of your work available so we can still smile, or even guffaw at what you gave to us during your lifetime.

I said a prayer in memory of Jack. I remember the day the news broke, too--and the TV special later that week that wound up with the Jack/Gisele MacKenzie violin duet. Those were in the pre-home video days, at least for us, but somewhere I think I still have an audiotape of the program.
