You've got me there....Although they were originally Kosher, Vienna's hot dogs haven't been for decades. (Although at U.S. Cellular Field you can get Best's Kosher, which are very good, especially with grilled onions.)

Artie Auerbach did a studio recording of "Pickle in the Middle" with Frankie Laine, of all people. I haven't heard it but it is on a huge, expensive multi-disc Laine CD Boxset called "That Lucky Old Sun". Then there's at least one more elaborate version of the song on the program with the Sportsmen, but I don't know the airdate. Nothing like milking a catchphrase for all it's worth!

I've got the 78rpm of it...just hadn't transferred it to a tape yet (at least, not one that's made it into the library). The bad news is that it's got a little skip right at the beginning of the song, but most of the record is fine. If you'd like a copy, let me know.

I have a copy of it somewhere on cassette. That song occasionally made the playlist of the Doctor Demento Show. Thank you though. (It's a fun little song.)
