Farewell to a friend

Brad Weage, the talented composer and musician who scored many of the Atlanta Radio Theater's shows, has passed away from pneumonia. I'm deeply saddened--he had a wicked wit and was an absolute genius at matching music to the demands of the plays we did, ranging from wacky comedy to suspense to realistic drama. I vividly recall that when I did my piece "An Arkham Home Companion"--an H.P. Lovecraft plot re-imagined as a folksy Garrison Keillor-esque reminiscence of small-town America--Brad got a HUGE laugh at the beginning by playing a tune reminiscent of Keillor's theme song "Tishomongo Blues" that shaded into warped, weird, minor-key menace. He was one of a kind. May he rest in peace.
