I love it when my seperate collecting habits collide. I just picked up "The Complete Peanuts: 1950-1952." It's insanely good and I highly recomend it. Why, you say, am I mentioning it on the Jack Benny forum, because there is a nice essay in the back of the book that covers the genesis of the cartoon strip, and in about the third paragragh the author mentions that Jack Benny might very well be one of the archetypes for the Charlie Brown character. I started thinking about it and Lucy is also very similar to Mary's character, but with Jack's miserly habits thrown in. I thought I would also point out that on pages 41 and 42, there are two strips featuring characters sitting in front of their radios listening to broadcasts.
