GW Slept Here

At this moment I'm watching the trailer for George Washington slept here on TCM. It's gonna be on Sunday night at 10 eastern. I've never seen it so I'll need to watch it.

It's a funny movie until the last five minutes, unfortunately. Did you know that in the original stage play the husband was the antiques nut who bought the old place? Jack thought his character worked better as the suffering spouse who resists the whole idea, so the roles were switched for the movie.

Just thought I'd mention this is also available to view on Warner Archive Instant, the new instant streaming service from the Warner Archive. There's a free two week trial as well.

On Warner Archive's Facebook page, the studio posted the following reply this morning (July 9), ref.: the status of THE HORN BLOWS AT MIDNIGHT...

"Work is being completed on the new master, so a release is on the horizon, along with the new master of GEORGE WASHINGTON SLEPT HERE."
