Sound clips

Postby Tate » Mon Aug 02, 2010 4:53 pm

Hi, I recently saw the ringtone of Mel Blanc on the Home page and thought that I'd send in my two sound clips. Laura Leff has put them up with the ringtone on their own page.

My two clips are the musical opening of "J-E-L-L-O" and the closing of "We're a little late, so goodnight folks." I use them on my computer as the opening and closing sounds. I use Windows XP and have to use wav files, but I also put up mp3 versions.

I smile every morning when I fire up the ol' computer and hear the jingle.

P.S. I don't know anything about ringtones, so I don't know if these will work for that.

I just found the clips and downloaded all of them. Can't wait to get them in my iTunes library - I have other short clips and movie quotes in there that "break the monotony" when listening to music on "shuffle".

I used to have a clip of Minerva Pious as a Brooklynite on the Fred Allen Show saying "What's eatin' ya, jerk?" as my cell phone ringtone. I still have it, and a longer clip of the scene it is from, if anyone wants a copy on mp3.

I would love to have these classic lines/jingles as my ringtone! Where can I find them? And how do I get them into my phone? (sorry, when it comes to technology I think I'm stuck in the 1950's!)

On the left side of the page click on Programs, go down to Sound Files and click on that to open the list. Right click on the files you want and save them to where ever you want in your computer. If you have a smart phone, getting them to your ring tones is pretty easy. If not I guess you follow the instructions for your phone. I have lots of other old radio ring tones other than Jack Benny. Email me at dcjohnson@earthlink.net and I will get them to you.
