Looking for radio show

Postby Ken » Wed Dec 19, 2007 11:26 pm

About 12 or 14 years ago I heard a Jack Benny show late at night on the radio in California that I've been looking for. The show was about his staff being unhappy with him. The staff was telling Jack how difficult it was to eat too much or drink too much, etc. in order to help Jack by being the butt of his jokes. The show ended with Jack telling the staff, "Do you think it is so easy for me to be so cheap?"
Does anybody remember this show and its title?

I'm pretty sure its the September 23, 1951 episode - they also do Captain Horatio Hornblower...
"Ship off the starboard bow!" "What kind is she?" "She's a Spanish Galleon!" "A galleon?" "Good! That's a quart for each of us!"

Derek,

I hope you are wrong because I just ordered a disk with the 3/12/39 show "Everyone wants a raise" but I do know the first show I'll try next time.

Thanks.

Well, aren't you just the lucky one today? I read this and then receive your package, and realize you ordered this from the IJBFC. I'll include both this and the Hornblower episode for you. I think it is the latter you're seeking. Enjoy!

LLeff,

Yes I am lucky. I thought I was lucky just to find it. Now I'm going to unexpectedly get it. My lucky day!

Thanks,
Ken
