Hey all,

I'm looking for photos of Sam Hearn online for a friend whose nickname is Schlepperman...Anyone know of a decent source of them online? There's not much info besides imdb that I've been able to find. Thanks!

This isn't a picture of Sam Hearn himself but rather of the audience he entertained at Camp Atterbury during World War II. http://www.indianamilitary.org/NEWSLETTER/2005/August/ (about 2/3rds down)

Here's what the article from the 1943 newsletter said about Schlepp's appearance:

Boy, did That Schlepperman "WOW" Them !! Applause and smiles were plentiful when patients of the Post Hospital watched the USO-Camp Show "Bandwagon" Friday on the stage of the Hospital auditorium. Headliner was the radio comedian Sam "Schlepperman" Hearn.

Sam Hearn makes an appearance on the JB television show on the episode with Danny Thomas as a guest. He's doing the Rube bit, not Schlepperman. It's available in the video library.

Of course Sam Hearn played Schlepperman and the man from Calabasas, but I seem to recognize his voice doing other small roles on the Benny radio show. Anyone have any info on this?
"Hey, Jackson, does Fred Allen always talk through his nose?"

"Yes, Phil. He's the only comedian who tells 'em and smells 'em at the same time!"
