I learned recently that Sam Hearn is my great uncle. Does anyone have info on Sam Herman? I was told he was Sam Hearn's brother. Sam Herman was married to my mother's mother, Sylvia Kannett.

Dear Lippo57, I too am related to Sam Herman. Although I never met him, he was my (now deceased) father's first cousin. I have a family tree that shows that Sam Herman was married to "Sylvia" and that Sylvia had a daughter (by another marriage?) named Barbara. As for the connection to Sam Hearn, here's what I know: Sam and my dad had many other first cousins including Frances Herman. Frances had a daughter named Shirley Cohen. Shirley married Jacob Fuchsberg who went on to become a Judge on NY's highest court. I had a conversation with Judge Fuchsberg more than 20 years ago in which he told me that I was related to Sam Hearn and Lou Hearn (brothers) who had changed their name from Herman when they went into show business. But that's all I know. I don't know how I am related to them and I don't see them on the family tree that I have. You may also be interested in this post on this website which makes reference to a mysterious Shirley Herman who appeared with Sam Hearn. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1124 That looks like another clue to the family relationship.
