I stopped at the new Red Skelton museum at Vincennes Univ in Indiana today. It's small but pretty good. It mostly focused on his television work. The lady working at the desk said that phase ii, which they hope to have completed by next fall will have stuff about his radio, vaudeville, and philanthropic work. They kinda rushed to open in time for his 100th birthday last month.
There were display cases with his costumes for quite a few of his characters including Cauliflower McPugg, Sheriff Deadeye, and others. By each case there is a tv screen where you can play a video of that particular character. There is a 10 minute video they show in a small theater when you first come in. Jack isn't mentioned by name, though they do show a clip a couple seconds long of him sitting with a chimp. They also have about a dozen of Red's paintings, all of clowns. He was a pretty good painter as well as comedian.
Anyway, if any of y'all get a chance to see it, go for it. I'd like to go again once they gave phase ii completed.
