Doris Singleton, 92

Postby Shemp » Wed Jun 27, 2012 8:32 pm

Character actress Doris Singleton has died at age 92. A familiar voice on hundreds of radio shows like THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM, THE BOB HOPE PEPSODENT SHOW, THE GEORGE BURNS & GRACIE ALLEN SHOW, etc., she became a familiar face on TV too. She's probably most-recognized as the competitive 'Carolyn Appleby' on I LOVE LUCY. Hundreds of TV appearances include the snobby fellow juror to 'Edith Bunker' on an episode of ALL IN THE FAMILY, and 'Chip''s mother-in-law in the last couple seasons of MY THREE SONS.

Yes, Doris had the recurring role of Pauline, Mary's maid on the radio show. Sad news, neat lady.
