One of the times Eddie "Rochester" Anderson was guesting on the Amos N' Andy show (I think it was Nov. of '49) he flubbed one of his lines. He comes as his character Rochester to Andy and the Kingfish's loan company to borrow some money. He asks if the interest rate is "...by the year or by the hour...uhh...month". Well, he blew it but so what? Freeman Gosden as The Kingfish doesn't miss a beat and jumps in with "It's by the second!" Somehow I find this real scene so charming...and the audience just cracks up!
