In one of the 1940 Al Pearce shows, Mr. Kitzel refers to Boyle Heights, an area of Los Angeles (southeast of downtown) which was largely Jewish at that time. Did he ever mention it on a Benny show?
Gradually the area became more Hispanic. Brooklyn Avenue (and the connecting Macy Street) became Cesar Chavez Avenue.
