Friar's Roast Jack

Postby krledu » Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:47 pm

I just heard a copy of a Friar Roast of Jack Benny from 1970, I believe. It was so funny, I was about falling on the floor. But I was wondering if it was telecast because there seem to be some visual gags. Does anybody have a copy or a link to a copy of this show? I just have an audio version. If have haven't heard/seen it, it would be worth your while to get.

I have an audio copy of this as well, and I know it was originally broadcast on TV, but I was wondering if the video from this still exists somewhere.

This was around the time that the brilliant network executives decided to wipe clean prerecorded videotape to save money and space (it's quite ironic how much money they actually ended up throwing away in the long run), so any video may no longer exist.

Does anyone know?

Friars Roast

I stumbled across this link advertising a set of Friars Roasts available on DVD:

https://www.classicfriarsroasts.com/fla ... 5go6pi5ai6

Included are roasts of Jack, Milton Berle, Johnny Carson, Jerry Lewis and Don Rickles. The set sells for $50 plus shipping.

If any members of the forum order this, I am curious as to the content and quality.
