Death of Alexander Doty

Alexander Doty, the gay studies professor who wrote a provocative chapter alleging that the Jack Benny character was homosexual, was killed in a pedestrian/motorcycle accident in Bermuda this summer. Just Friday, a champion tennis player was sentenced to jail for driving drunk and killing Doty.

The book with the Benny chapter, Making Things Perfectly Queer, was published by University of Minnesota Press in 1993.
