So I read this not too long ago and meant to follow up - first thing I noticed when I read the acknowledgements at the beginning of the book was that the author specifically thanks Laura and the members here, which was lovely to see!
Rather than a straight biography of JB, the book deep dives into specific areas like Jack's relationship with his sponsors, his writer Harry Conn (one word: yikes), and "Rochester" and Eddie Anderson in the context of a country that was very slowly recognizing civil rights. Even if you are a JB expert (and I assume most here are!) there is quite a lot to learn from this book.
