There will be quite a few opportunities to listen to Jack on radio the next week or so.
First, as they do every Sunday night, CHML in Hamilton, Ontario will run a Jack Benny radio episode this Sunday night (April 29th) at 10:05 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time.
CHML is at 900 on the AM dial and has a 50,000-watt signal, but a highly-directional one. If you live inside a triangle bordered by Boston, Hamilton, and Atlantic City, you should be able to pick them up at night.
Outside the area, you can go to http://www.900chml.com , and listen on-line.
Monday through Thursday nights this coming week (April 30th-May 2nd), you'll be able to hear a different Jack Benny show each weeknight at 10:30 P.M. Eastern on Toronto's CFZM, as announced at the end of last night's (April 26th) edition of "Theatre Of The Mind", their rebroadcasts of classic radio shows.
CFZM is at 740 on the AM dial with a powerful 50,000-watt signal that at night can be heard throughout the eastern parts of the United States and Canada. Outside this area, you can go to http://www.zoomerradio.ca , and at the appropriate time, click-on the "Listen Live" link to enjoy the show.
And this Tuesday, May 1st, "When Radio Was" has a special treat: Jack's very first radio show from 1932.
"When Radio Was" is nationally syndicated, but for many people in the Eastern and Central United States and Canada, the best bet will be to listen to it on Chicago's WBBM (740 on the AM dial), where it will be heard Wednesday morning May 2nd at about 1:25 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time (12:35 A.M. Central time).
Again, I don't work for any of these organizations, nor know anyone who does. But I wanted to share the news with you.
