The last script I put my hands on today was the last show of the 1935-36 season. I had heard it already and knew the ending (and my eyes about bugged out when I first heard it), but find that there are several rewrites of the ending for both coasts.
But all of them have this in common...Jack thanks Harry Conn for his work with the show, and also acknowledges Ed Beloin and Bill Morrow for stepping in "during Mr. Conn's illness."
Regardless of the circumstances of Conn's leaving, it's clear that Jack recognized his importance and shortly thereafter seemed to hold no malice towards him. Now THERE'S a man!
