that sounds like that may have been the case. in a semi-related practice, Elvis made his national debut on Steve Allen's show but it's Presley's appearance on Ed Sullivan that many site as his "debut". Jack and Mary's book may not have been known of by the public and so that's why the '37 book you all are talking about was ignored.
