I think Eddie Anderson may have made the most bloopers over the course of his time on the radio program, although the writers would make more hay out of Mary's bloopers.
I think it's the program of Dec. 15, 1940, from New York on which Anderson fluffs "I was weekending up in Harlem" by saying "I was weekending up the Hudson." Shortly afterwards he hit another line correctly, getting a big laugh, and Jack got an even bigger laugh by shouting, "That made up for the one you muffed!"
: Some time back, someone made mention that Eddie Anderson never stepped out of character or blew a line. Well in logging the show of 6/20/37 today, I found a blooper. It is Eddie's very first appearance as Rochester, and he does it on his second line. Jack helps him save it, but it's interesting to hear Anderson momentarily, and literally, at a loss for words.
