: Jack must have really liked the song "Pretend" as he had it featured on three shows in quick succession. First one was Bob Crosby singing it on the 15th March 1953 program. Then only two weeks later on the 29th. Dennis does it.Just over a month later on 3rd. May, by far the best version, by the wonderful Giselle Mackenzie. Jack also sings a few lines from the song himself in quite a few shows around that time.I wonder if it had special meaning for him?

I don't know about that, but there was also a painfully hilarious version of "Pretend" sung by Sara Berner as "The Radio Singer" (that nasal-sounding vocalist who seemed to pop up on every other radio station singing the same song as Jack surfed down the radio dial...one of my favorite Benny bits!).

Just for the record, some other famous (or INfamous) "Radio Singer" renditions were "Too Young" and "Some Enchanted Evening"....Does anyone know any others?
